JC Hospitality, owner of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, has appointed Chad Brown as vice president of marketing.

In his new role, Brown will be responsible for developing and driving marketing strategy for JC Hospitality and lead the marketing team for Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.

“Chad is a tremendous addition to our executive team. He brings a vast amount of knowledge and industry experience specific to Las Vegas,” said JC Hospitality CEO Richard Bosworth.

The property, formerly known as the Hard Rock Las Vegas, closed in February for a renovation that is expected to be completed later this year. JC Hospitality is overseeing the hotel and non-gaming aspects of the 1,100-room off-Strip resort.

Last fall, Mohegan Gaming – the casino arm of Connecticut’s Mohegan Indian Tribe – announced a deal to operate the 60,000 square-foot casino at the property, becoming the first tribal gaming company to manage a resort in the nation’s largest commercial gambling market.

The casino will be known as Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Longtime gaming executive Joe Hasson will be the general manager of the casino.

Betfred USA Sports, the American subsidiary of United Kingdom-based Betfred Group, will manage sports betting at the property.

Brown brings more than 20 years of marketing experience to Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. He began his hospitality career at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino in 2005, where he served as the hotel’s marketing manager. Since then, he’s held marketing-executive positions at Luxor, Mandalay Bay, and Bellagio. Most recently, he oversaw new marketing and technology initiatives as the vice president of marketing operations for MGM Resorts International.

Brown is a veteran of the U. S. Army and earned his Bachelor of Science in marketing at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His Master of Business Administration degree is from the University of Phoenix. Brown serves as a committee member of the Las Vegas Bowl and as a mentor in the UNLV executive mentor program.
