Vermont sports betting operations generated a handle of $18.4 million in November, collecting over $2 million in revenue. The handle grew 6.3 percent compared to October, while revenue jumped by 94 percent.
Like many U.S. states in October, such as New York and South Dakota, Vermont suffered from sports bettor-friendly results. Vermont sportsbooks retained 6.1 percent of the handle as revenues. However, Vermont recovered in November, with the hold reaching almost 11.2 percent.
The football sports betting handle fell month-over-month from $6.5 million to more than $6.2 million, but the basketball betting handle surged by almost $3 million to reach $5 million in November. No other sport has handled more than $1 million, with tennis coming closest at more than $950,000 in sports betting. The other two most wagered-on sports were soccer, with a handle of more than $730,000, and table tennis, with a handle above $576,000.
Active users from out of the state fell to more then 10,800 from 12,471 month-over-month. However, in-state users increased from 16,790 in October to 17,545 in November. The average bet across all types of players also increased month-over-month from $21 to $23.
