TribalNet, the leading interconnectivity platform for tribal gaming issues, technological advances and healthcare, has announced that nominations and recommendations for the 2018 Industry Awards are now open.

TribalNet began the Industry Awards in 2008 as a way of recognizing and honoring IT teams working in tribal gaming/enterprise, government or health.

“(TribalNet) encourages tribal organizations and enterprises of all sizes to submit their nominations for consideration,” Shannon Boucher, TribalNet Director of Operations, said in a statement. “We have seen first-hand the difference this award makes to the tribes that receive it.

“Some of our past recipients have told us that the team experienced a boost in morale, comradeship and productivity.  We’ve also been told that it was helpful at budget time to be able to leverage their industry-recognized expertise.  We look forward to honoring two more teams this year, the 10th anniversary awards presentation, at our 19th annual conference.”

Past recipients of the award include Talking Stick Casino, Cherokee Indian Hospital, the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians IT Department, the Pechanga Resort & Casino IT Department and the Sacramento Native American Health Center.

TribalNet’s Advisory Board members will review the nominations and determine the final award recipients.

Two IT teams will be recognized this year for their creative, innovative, productive, impactful and forward-thinking work across Indian Country. The awards will be split between two disciplines: one team working primarily in areas focused on the success of tribal businesses/enterprises, the second focused primarily on impact on tribal governments and services provided to tribal membership.

The two teams will be recognized at the TribalNet Annual Conference and Tradeshow at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, during the Awards Luncheon on November 6, 2018.

Recommendations submitted by anyone outside of the identified team are due September 21, 2018. Team members or IT team leaders have until October 1 to complete the nomination packet.  Both the recommendation form and nomination packet can be found online.
