There is a real buzz around pro golf today with the announcement of the PGA and LIV Golf League merger, and the folks who run the RBC Canadian Open, which tees off Thursday, are looking to build on the excitement.

So too do the people who run theScore Bet, kicking off the second year of their multi-year partnership with Golf Canada as Official Gaming Partner of the RBC Canadian Open.

The tournament this season is being played at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club course in Toronto. Last year, at St. George’s Golf and Country Club, theScore Bet set up what they called Skyline Seats, which took fans 100 feet above the play to watch the tournament action. Those seats were jammed all four days of the tournament.

This season, theScore Bet’s market-activation strategy includes HOLE ZERO, a playable par-3 hole, free for any fans on site to play during the four days. There will be a clubhouse, caddy, swing coach, gear and official leaderboard, so people there can compete for cash prizes.

“We know golf fans are always eager to get as close to the action as possible and now they’ll be able to do so right on the course and in a premium and unique way alongside the pros,” said Aubrey Levy, senior vice president, content and marketing, theScore Bet. “Hole Zero is another extension of our brand and activation strategy as we focus on adding real value for fans across our portfolio of partnerships and platforms.”

The fans will no doubt benefit from the location of the special par 3, close to the entrance gates, and the 1st hole on the course, near Fare Way, where the food vendors are located, thus lots of foot traffic.

After qualifying, patrons secure a schedule time and are shuttled to and from HOLE ZERO.

TheScore Bet Members Lounge also returns this year. The hospitality space features complimentary food and beverages and views across the 9th fairway.
