National

Total igaming revenue for February 2024 in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, West Virginia, and Delaware added up to $620.2 million as compared to last year’s $459.9 million. Rhode Island launched its online casino on March 5.

1. Michigan

Michigan’s online casinos generated $188 million in February 2024, which set another new record, beating the previous record of $181.9 million set just last month (with two fewer days of reporting).

Michigan’s 15 online casino operators paid $46.6 million in total taxes compared to $37.5 million last year; $33.8 million went to the state, $8.9 million to the city of Detroit, and $3.9 million to the 12 tribal governments.

2. Pennsylvania

The Keystone State registered a record $184.9 million in winnings in February as compared to $131.6 million in February 2023, a 40.5% increase.

Total revenue from online slots, $125.9 million, was a year-over-year increase of 35.6%, while table games generated $56.6 million, up a whopping 56.7%. Online poker declined to $2.4 million, down 8.3%.

Pennsylvania collected $51.1 million in igaming taxes for the month.

3. New Jersey

The internet-gaming win in the Garden State last month was $182.3 million, an increase of just under 28% from last year’s $142.6 million.

Golden Nugget scored with $51.2 million in win compared to $36.5 million last year, followed by Resorts Digital at $48 million compared to $36 million and Borgata/BetMGM at $40 million compared to $39.7 million.

New Jersey collected its 15% Internet Gross Revenue Tax of $27.5 million compared to February 2023’s $21.4 million.

4. Connecticut

Connecticut’s two online-casino operators earned $43.7 million in igaming revenue in February, nearly double February 2023’s total of $23.3 million. It fell a half-million dollars short of the record $44.2 million set in December 2023, with two days less in the month.

DraftKings (Foxwoods) and FanDuel (Mohegan Sun) paid their 18% in taxes (after deducting promotional spend up to 15%) to the Constitution State, a total of $6.7 million compared to last year’s $4.2 million.

5. West Virginia

For the four-week period ending March 2, West Virginia generated $17.4 million in igaming revenue, which set a new record and beat last February’s total, which also set a record at the time, by $4.3 million.

West Virginia hosts seven online-casino operators: BetMGM, FanDuel, and Golden Nugget (on the Greenbrier license); PointsBet and DraftKings (on the Charles Town license); and Caesars and BetRivers (on the Mountaineer’s license) and together they paid $2.61 million in gaming taxes (15%).

6. Delaware

Delaware’s February igaming revenue was $3.9 million, nearly 300% more than the $1.1 million generated in February 2023. The state’s 10-year contract with its previous icasino operator, 888, expired in December and BetRivers took the reins. February’s total is also a half-million dollars more than January’s; both totals are without online poker, which is coming soon. February set the new record, which could occur monthly until the new levels settle down.

Online video lottery (slot) games once again accounted for the lion’s share of income at $2.8 million compared to last year’s $800,562, while table games generated $1.1 million compared to $277,722.
