South Dakota’s commercial casinos generated a handle of $106.3 million in February, down from $118.6 million, a year-over-year decline of 10.4%.
The South Dakota Commission on Gaming reports the handle of slot machines, table games and sports betting revenue from seven of its casinos. Last month, slot machines generated $98.8 million, dropping from $110.8 million, down 10.8% year-over-year. Table games declined by 5% compared to February 2024, decreasing from $7.1 million to $6.7 million.
South Dakota’s sportsbooks produced a handle of $733,611, rising from $696,016 reported the previous year, up 5.4%. NCAA men’s basketball contributed the most to the handle, with bettors wagering $362,696 last month.
The combined statistical win from slot machines, table games and sports wagering also declined in February, decreasing from $11.2 million to $10.5 million, a year-over-year decline of 6.8%
Slot machines generated a statistical win of $9.2 million, down from the $9.8 million reported in February 2024, while table games decreased from $1.4 million to $1.2 million year-over-year. Sportsbooks also declined, dropping from $38,405 to $18,295 year-over-year.
