The Seminole Tribe’s Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming Friday announced a $250,000 cash donation to the Support Surfside Fund to help those affected by the collapse of Champlain Towers.
The donation is part of the Seminole Tribe’s Support Surfside Program to help residents and families impacted by the June 24 tragedy.
“This is a terrible tragedy, and our hearts go out to the many people affected by it,” said Seminole Tribe of Florida Chairman Marcellus Osceola Jr. in a statement. “The Seminole Tribe pledges to marshal our resources and do everything we can to help.”
As part of the Support Surfside Program, all restaurants, retail shops and hotels of Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming are asking guests if they’d like to round up purchases to the next dollar, with all proceeds going to the Support Surfside Fund. Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming team members can contribute directly to a designated account linked to the Support Surfside Fund, which will be matched by Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming.
And starting July 3, team members from Hard Rock Cafe Miami at Bayside Marketplace daily will prepare and deliver 100 dinners to help feed Miami-Dade Fire Rescue professionals at the site. This program is expected to continue for several weeks.
“In keeping with one of Hard Rock’s founding mottos of “Take Time to Be Kind,” Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming team members want to do something meaningful to help people affected by this tragic event,” said Hard Rock International Chairman and Seminole Gaming CEO Jim Allen in a statement. “Our Support Surfside Program is about reaching out to our neighbors in need and extending a helping hand.”

The Support Surfside Fun was created by the Coral Gables Community Foundation, the Key Biscayne Community Foundation, the Miami Foundation, the Knight Foundation, Miami Heat and the Miami Heat Charitable Fund. The $250,000 contribution by Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming increased total donations to more than $2,250,000.
