Scientific Games Corporation announces the continued launch of iLottery games for the Hungarian Lottery with additional go-lives of eInstant games, expanding the company’s global digital lottery footprint to nearly 30 U.S. and international lotteries.

Hungary’s lottery is one of the fastest growing in Europe, with digital sales increasing 58% from 2018 to 2020 through collaboration with Scientific Games and combined retail and digital sales increasing 17% from 2018 to 2020. Scientific Games also provides the Lottery with a sports betting program, central gaming system, and retail technology.

“Scientific Games is an important partner in our modernization efforts. The launch of our eInstant program last year has contributed to year-over-year growth,” said Gergely Koppány, Director of Game Development and Strategy for the Hungarian lottery.

The favorite eInstant game among Hungarian National Lottery players thus far is blackjack, sold at retail since 1995, which has contributed to more than 22% of eInstant game sales and more than 19% of the Lottery’s instant game revenue.

“Hungary is a great example of our retail and digital technologies successfully serving all game verticals, including sports,” said Christian Kometer, Managing Director International Lottery Systems for Scientific Games.

Scientific Games is the largest lottery systems technology provider in Europe, creator of the first digital instant game in the U.S. in 2014, and the leading provider of lottery interactive games, mobile apps, player loyalty programs and other interactive products and services in the U.S. The Company’s products generate more than 70% of the lottery industry’s annual instant game retail sales globally.
