A very lucky local Reno woman turned a $10 bet into a $14 million Megabucks jackpot Sunday night at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. The Atlantis patron, who remains anonymous, had been playing Megabucks Mega Vault for 40 minutes on her $10 coin-in when she hit the largest progressive slot win in Reno history: $14,005,833.
The Reno woman hadn’t planned to be at the Atlantis Sunday, but due to a cruise cancelation, she wound up there and proceeded to win the life-changing and record-setting jackpot.
“This is another amazing milestone to celebrate in our company’s history and it’s verifiable proof that our award-winning property in northern Nevada truly is every player’s paradise,” said Cheraz Ecker, general manager of Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.
Megabucks, the world’s first wide area progressive jackpot system created by IGT, has been awarding jackpots to lucky winners since 1986. Sunday’s win at the Atlantis is the first Megabucks jackpot to hit in Nevada since April 2021.
