The World Game Protection Conference – which connects people responsible for observing, detecting, reporting, investigating or acting on undesirable activity in a casino – is bringing in several top-level casino security, surveillance and public safety experts as speakers for the four-day event.
The conference, scheduled for March 3-6 at the Tropicana Las Vegas, examines current and emerging threats to casino entertainment complexes and explores opportunities and practices to combat those threats.
Among the speakers currently announced for the conference include Tony Stone, vice president of surveillance for the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, who will discuss how to create a successful surveillance team, and Robert Krauss, vice president of public safety at the Pechanga Resort in California, who will provide insight on innovative and enhanced security practices. The casino recently introduced robots and dogs to the security team.
Mike Waite, vice president of security and surveillance at Okada Manila, will discuss the casino’s highly specialized emergency response teams work and train to protect the property from “real world” threats.
Other speakers include “ethical hacker” Drew Porter, Edward Primeau, a video forensics expert, and Josh Davis, a reader in applied psychology, and body language expert Joe Navarro.
The WGPC expo brings together the casino industry’s leading manufacturers of surveillance and security products. The exhibits are open on the third day of the conference program – technology day.
