The world’s gaming industry spent 2018 developing advanced new options for players. New technology enabled the development of tools to support new creations and trends being introduced to the industry. These new trends, most of which involved sports betting and online games, attracted the attention of gaming markets and the authorities charged with overseeing those markets.
Though there was already some organic interest, there was still a need to create public interest in these new gaming options. At the same time, there was, and is, a need to implement norms and procedures that allow for the establishment of regulations to guarantee the legitimate and impartial operation of these new activities within a formal framework. Many markets opened up to sports betting and online games; in Latin America, for example, Brazil and Argentina have recently passed their own gaming regulations and laws.
In Peru, a gaming bill is on track to be resolved through the government and Congress. The gaming industry should know by April whether or not the bill is passed, and the expectation is that it will be. As a result, many companies already operating in the online gaming space are looking to expand their business into the potentially lucrative Peruvian market.
This year’s 17th edition of the Peruvian Gaming Show (PGS) is shaping up to be the biggest and best version of PGS yet. Scheduled for June 19th & 20th at the Jockey Exposition Center in Santiago de Surco, advanced tickets are now on sale. With more than 5000 square meters of exhibits and attendees already confirmed, including some of the most important companies in the industry, PGS 2019 should prove to be roughly 25% larger than last year’s. The PGS team at AMG SAC, the organizer of this year’s show, is fully committed to this goal.
We would like to thank all the companies that have confirmed their locations at PGS 2019, and we look forward to seeing you there. For more information, or to book a booth or purchase tickets, visit http://www.perugamingshow.com/english/
