Pennsylvania: Sports betting, igaming, drive gaming revenue over $510 million

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Wednesday reported revenue of $510.1 million from all forms of gambling in August, a year-over-year increase of 11.6%.

Operators across the state, notably Valley Forge Casino Resort (45.1%), The Casino at Nemacolin (26.0%), Parx Shippensburg (21.6%), Live Casino Philadelphia (20.6%) and Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Grantsville (16.7%) reported sizable year-over-year increases.

Notably, sports wagering revenue (36.2%) and igaming slot revenue (31.4%) also saw significant increases.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Grantsville led Pennsylvania casinos with gaming revenue of $87.7 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort followed with revenue of $70.8 million, and Parx Casino in Philadelphia reported revenue of $53.7 million, a year-over-year increase of 5.7%.

Revenue from slots increased 3.9%. Parx Casino led Pennsylvania casinos with $32.6 million, an increase of 1.6% year-over-year, and Wind Creek Bethlehem generated $25.2 million, a year-over-year increase of 3.0%. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s slot revenue was $22.1 million, an increase of 1.2% compared to the same time period in 2023.

Pennsylvania brought in $183.7 million in igaming revenue in August. Hollywood Casino at Penn National led the state in igaming revenue with $72.1 million, a 19.5 % increase. Valley Forge Casino Resort posted $45.9 million, an increase of 41.7%, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia reported igaming revenue of $30.9 million, up 9.9%.

Valley Forge Casino Resort generated sports betting revenue of $13.3 million from a handle of $176.4 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands brought in $7.8 million in revenue from a sports betting handle of $124.4 million. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh posted sports betting revenue $1.9 million from a handle of $21.4 million.
