Pennsylvania monthly gaming revenue tops $600 million for the first time

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Wednesday reported that combined revenue from all forms of gaming and fantasy contests during May topped $600 million for the first time. Commonwealth operators reported $601.8 million in May revenue, up 15.5% year-over-year.

Significant increases in igaming revenue, along with hefty revenue increases generated by two operators, contributed to Pennsylvania’s total.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville generated $107.7 million, a 31.9% increase from May 2024’s $81.6 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia generated $105.8 million, a 32.9% increase over the $79.5 million brought in during May 2024. Parx Casino in Philadelphia reported $59.1 million (a 4.4% increase year-over-year) and Rivers Casino Philadelphia’s $58.3 million (14.5% increase year-over-year) rounded out the state’s top revenue generators.

Slot revenue in May reached $224.8 million, a 5% year-over-year increase. Parx Casino led all operators in slot revenue, generating $34.5 million compared to the $32.6 million posted in May 2024, an increase of 5.7%. Wind Creek Bethlehem’s total was $25.5 million, up from the $24.1 million accrued during the same time period the previous year, a gain of 6.1%. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s slot revenue was $23.5 million, a 0.7% increase from May 2024’s $23.3 million.

According to the PGCB, igaming revenue in Pennsylvania reached $232.8 million, a 33.7% increase compared to May 2024. Hollywood Casino at Penn National’s $90.1. million was a jump of 38.4%. Valley Forge Casino Resort posted igaming revenue of $64.1 million, up 44.4% year-over-year. Rivers Casino Philadelphia generated $36.9 million in igaming revenue, up 18% year-over-year.

Sports wagering in Pennsylvania generated $59.4 million from a handle of $655.3 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort reached revenue of $28.4 million from a handle of $252.8 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands posted revenue $15.7 million from a handle of $168.9 million, and Hollywood Casino York generated $2.8 million with a handle of $42.2 million.
