Pennsylvania: Gaming revenue reaches $496.5 million in October

According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Wednesday, revenue from all forms of gambling reached $496.5 million in October, a year-over-year increase of 2.8%.

Valley Forge Casino Resort posted an increase of 25.6%, from $64.4 million in October 2023 to $80.9 million. Two online sites, Golden Nugget ($6.2 million, 109.6% year over year) and Bally’s Pennsylvania ($3.8 million and up 102.9% year over year) also saw significant increases. But Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands suffered a 37.0% decrease in revenue to $21.5 million.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantsville topped all Pennsylvania outlets with $82.5 million, an increase of 6.9% from October 2023. Valley Forge’s $80.9 million was next and Rivers Casino Philadelphia posted $53.0 million, an 11.4% increase over October 2023.

Revenue from slots in October increased 4.2% in the commonwealth. Parx Casino led Pennsylvania casinos with $31.3 million, an increase of 3.9%. Wind Creek Bethlehem generated $23.4 million, an increase of 7.6% compared to October 2023. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s slot revenue was $21.2 million, a slight increase of 1.3%.

In October, igaming revenue reached $189.0 million. Hollywood Casino at Penn National led the state with $69.4 million, an increase of 11.6%. Valley Forge Casino Resort posted $51.9. million, up 46.6%, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia reported igaming revenue of $33.2 million, an increase of 13.5%.

Valley Forge Casino Resort reported sports betting revenue of $17.3 million from a handle of $348.6 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows brought in $5.8 on a handle of $224.9 million and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh generated $1.0 million from a handle of $33.2 million.
