Pennsylvania: Gaming revenue of $562.3 million sets monthly record

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Tuesday reported revenue of $562.3 million in November from all forms of gambling, a monthly record.

The November total was an increase of 26% compared to November 2023.

November’s total was boosted by record revenue generated by sports betting, with a handle of $935.5 million and revenue of $77.1 million, a 0.15% increase. Sports betting in the state was arguably boosted by the success of the commonwealth’s football teams, with both the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers atop their divisions in the NFL.

Revenue from igaming was also significantly up year-over-year, generating $200.4 million compared to the $158.0 million brought in during November 2023, a 26.9% increase.

Valley Forge Casino Resort led all Pennsylvania casinos, posting revenue of $102.5 million, an increase of 69.2% from $61.0 million in November 2023. Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantsville also saw a significant increase, bringing in $90.4 million, a year-over-year increase of 6.9%.  Parx Casino in Philadelphia generated $54.0 million, an increase of 5.7%.

Revenue from slots in November reached $189.7 million, with Parx Casino leading with $31.1 million, an increase of 4.5% year-over-year. Wind Creek Bethlehem generated $23.9 million, an increase of 4.8% compared to November 2023. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s slot revenue was $21.3 million, an increase of 3.9% compared to November 2023,

November’s igaming revenue of $200.4 million was led Hollywood Casino at Penn National’s $74.4 million, a 21.8% increase. Valley Forge Casino Resort posted $54.1 million, a 31.7% jump, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia reported igaming revenue of $34.7 million, up 25.5% year-over-year.

Sports betting revenue was once again led by Valley Forge Casino Resort, which brought in $36.8 million from a handle of $373.6 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows brought in $21.0 million based on a handle of $246.2 million and Hollywood Casino Morgantown generated $4.5 million from a handle of $65.9 million.
