Pennsylvania gaming revenue increases more than 11% year-over-year

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Wednesday posted gaming revenue of $557.7 million for July, up 11.36% compared to July 2024.

July saw a huge increase in igaming revenue, as the commonwealth generated $228.2 million, a year-over-year increase of 30.9%.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville topped all state operators, generating $103.4 million, a 30.1% increase compared to June 2024’s $79.5 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia reported revenue of $88.8 compared to $74.5.9 million in July 2024, up 19.2%. Rivers Casino Philadelphia posted $57.5 million, up 16.6% from $49.3 million in June 2024.

Revenue from slots reached $208.5 million, up 2.1%. Parx Casino led all Pennsylvania operators in slot revenue, generating $30.9 million compared to the $30.6 million reported in June 2024, up 0.01% year-over-year. Wind Creek Bethlehem’s revenue from slots was $23 million, a year-over-year drop of 3.8% compared to July 2024’s $23.9 million.  Rivers Casino Pittsburgh generated $22.6 million, a year-over-year increase of 2.7% from the $21.7 million accumulated in 2024.

The igaming revenue of $228.2 million was led by Hollywood Casino at Penn National’s $87.8 million, up 37.2% year-over-year. Valley Forge Casino Resort posted igaming revenue of $61.2 million, a jump of 34.1%, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia generated $37.8 million in igaming revenue, an increase of 26.6% year-over-year.

Sports wagering generated $40.6 million based on a handle of $412.5 million, a 0.5% decrease year-over-year. Valley Forge Casino Resort reported July revenue of $15.5 million from a handle of $140.9 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands generated revenue of $11.3 million from a handle of $112.3 million. Hollywood Casino York posted revenue $2.7 million from a handle of $28.4 million.
