Pennsylvania: Gaming revenue, boosted by record igaming results, reaches $597 million in October

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Wednesday reported revenue from all forms of gaming and fantasy contests during October was $597 million, an increase of 20.2% year-over-year.

According to the report, igaming revenue of $251.1 million drove much of the increase, setting a record for that form of gambling and eclipsing the previous igaming revenue record of $238.2 million set in March.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville led state operators, generating $114.4 million in October, a 38.7% increase compared to October 2024’s $82.5 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia reported revenue of $101.3 million compared to $80.9 million last year, an increase of 25.2%. Rivers Casino Philadelphia’s posted $57.4 million, a 8.3% increase compared to the $53 million generated in October 2024. Parx Casino, also in Philadelphia, reported $56.1 million in October, a year-over-year increase of 8.8%.

Revenue from slots reached $203.5 million, up 1.4% year-over-year. Parx Casino led all Pennsylvania operators in slot revenue, generating $31.2 million compared to $31.3 million, down 0.3%. Wind Creek Bethlehem’s revenue from slots reached $22.5 million, a year-over-year drop of 4% compared to $23.4 million.  Rivers Casino Pittsburgh generated $21 million, a year-over-year decrease of 1.1% from $21.2 million.

The igaming revenue of $251.1 million saw most of Pennsylvania’s igaming operators experience increases. Hollywood Casino at Penn National generated $98.7 million, up 42.2%. Valley Forge Casino Resort reported $71.4 million, a jump of 37.5%, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia produced $38.2 million, up 15%.

Sports wagering during October generated $60.7 million based on a handle of $968.5 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands generated the most revenue, $21.8 million, from a handle of $300.1 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort reported October sports betting revenue of $18.2 million from a handle of $357.6 million. Hollywood Casino Morgantown posted revenue of $3.9 million from a handle of $59.8 million.
