The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has fined and approved consent agreements with three gaming operators in the commonwealth for gaming violations.
The Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association was fined twice. One violation was for permitting nine people on the PGCB’s Voluntary iGaming Self-Exclusion List to create or gain access to casino-type games or sports wagering sites, and in some cases, place wagers. All igaming sites must refuse wagers and deny access to self-excluded individuals. The fine for the violation is $57,500.
Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association also was fined for allowing two underage individuals access the gaming floor at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course facility in Dauphin County. One underage person, part of a group of individuals ages 16, 17, 18, and 19, played a slot machine. MTRA was fined $25,000.
PID, which runs Presque Isle Downs in Erie, was fined for permitting a patron to consume alcohol on the gaming floor during a state-wide COVID-19 ban. The ban prohibited bars from serving alcohol unless it was part of a transaction that include a meal. The fine is $45,000.
Two incidents involving thefts at Harrah’s Philadelphia, operated by Chester Downs and Marina, LLC, resulted in a fine $22,500 for failure to protect assets. In one incident, a patron stole $955 in playing chips from a table game. Another patron stole $24,000 in cash from an open cash drawer.
Copies of the approved consent agreements offering more details on each violation are available upon request through the PGCB’s Office of Communications.
