Pennsylvania casino revenue up 10.9% year-over-year in January

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Thursday reported revenue of $529.1 million in January, up 10.9 percent compared to January 2024.

Valley Forge Casino Resort led Pennsylvania casinos in January with revenue of $97.8 million, up 6.4 percent compared to January 2024. Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course reported $92.7 million, up 50.3 percent year-over-year. Rivers Casino Philadelphia broke into the top three with $51.2 million, up 5.5 percen, slightly edgintg out Parx Casino in Philadelphia, which posted $51.1 million, down 0.1 percent.

Revenue from slots in January was $187.8 million, with revenue increases at most Pennsylvania casinos leading to a bump of 4.6 percent across the board. Parx Casino led with $29.9 million, a jump of 6.6 percent year-over-year. Wind Creek Bethlehem generated $21.2 million, up 1.2 percent compared to January 2024. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s slot revenue was $20.5 million, up 1.3 percent year-over-year.

January igaming revenue increased again, with the $210.2 million wagered, an increase of 40.5 percent. Hollywood Casino at Penn National, with $79.7 million, a 41.8 percent increase, led all Pennsylvania operators. Valley Forge Casino Resort posted $57.6 million, a 38.4 percent jump, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia reported igaming revenue of $35.4 million, up 19.8 percent year-over-year.

Sports betting revenue reached $51.5 million from a handle of $873.1 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort brought in $28.8 million from a handle of $342.3 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands brought in $14.9 million based on a handle of $221 million, and Hollywood Casino Morgantown generated $3.4 million from a handle of $68.7 million.
