The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Monday posted that revenue generated from gaming and fantasy contests was $558 million during April, a year-over-year increase of 10.7%.
Strong increases in igaming revenue, including slots (34.5%) and table games (24.2%), bolstered revenue in the commonwealth.
For the second straight month, Valley Forge Casino Resort led with $99.1 million, a 16.1% increase over April 2024’s $85.3 million. Valley Forge edged out perennial leader Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville, which generated $97.7 million, an increase of 24.7% year-over year. Rivers Casino Philadelphia’s $56.2 million (a 14.5% increase over the $49 million in April 2024) was more than Parx Casino in Philadelphia, which posted $54.2 million compared to the $53.8 million it accumulated in April 2024, up O.78%.
Slot revenue in April reached $203.1 million, a drop of 1.6%. Parx Casino led all operators in slot revenue, generating $31.4 million compared to the $31.6 million posted in April 2024, a down 0.72%. Wind Creek Bethlehem’s total was $22.5 million, also a year-over-year decrease of 0.72% from April’s total of $22.6 million. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh generated $20.9 million, a year-over-year decrease of 3% compared to April 2024’s $21.5 million.
According to the PGCB board, igaming revenue rose across the state to $227. 7 million, led by Hollywood Casino at Penn National’s $83.2 million, up 33.5% year-over-year. Valley Forge Casino Resort posted igaming revenue of $66.7 million, a jump of 38.7%, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia generated $35.9 million in igaming revenue, up 17.1% year-over-year.
Sports wagering across the state generated $42.5 million based on a handle of $711.6 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort had April revenue of $20.1 million from a handle of $269.8 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands posted revenue $12.1 million from a handle of $185.6 million, and Presque Isle Down and Casino in Erie generated $1.91 million based on a handle of $34.2 million.
