A major objective for operators in Ontario’s regulated internet-gaming market when it comes to customer retention will come down to seamlessness, simplicity, and security of betting transactions.
Payments-platform Paysafe hopes they have a solution for that, announcing they’ve launched their revamped Skrill digital wallet for online betting in Ontario.
The new wallet, according to Paysafe, will allow Ontarians to instantly fund wagers and easily cash out winnings.
“Since we first rolled out the new Skrill in the U.S. two years ago, it’s been a game changer for the payments experience of American players,” said Zak Cutler, president of Global Gaming at Paysafe. “We expect the upgraded wallet to be just as well received north of the border, with Skrill giving Ontarian operators a competitive edge when it comes to acquiring and retaining their customers.”
The Skrill digital wallet was launched in the U.S. in 2021 and is available across all 26 American igaming jurisdictions where Paysafe works with operators.
The registration process links Ontarians’ bank accounts to the wallet. Players use Skrill to deposit instantly into sportsbook accounts via online back transfer. Bettors can also load funds to their Skrill wallet balance. Winnings can either be spent online using Skrill at supporting merchants or transferred to players’ linked bank accounts.
Paysafe connects businesses and consumers across more than 250 payment types in more than 40 currencies around the world. The company has 25-plus years of online-payment experience, transactional volume of more than $130 billion in 2022, and around 3,000 employees in 12 countries.
