Paris, the capital without a casino, buries the circles and tries games clubs instead

Starting January 1st, 2018, new gambling establishments are welcome in Paris.

The gaming circles such as Wagram, Concorde and Aviation Club of France have disappeared in the wake of lawsuits over tax fraud and money laundering.

Only the Clichy Montmartre gaming circle remains active. It has a year to transform itself into a club, while other protagonists come onto the scene in large numbers.

With this new entry in force, the status of Paris as a gaming center is reformed. In the coming weeks the capital will play host to new types of institutions which will offer poker-type games, but where the most popular activities, such as blackjack, roulette, or slot machines, will be prohibited.

Three groups – Raineau, Tranchant and Partouche – have already submitted requests, according to one source close to the file.

Barrière, the No. 1 French casino, is happy to say that “there will be a gaming club in Paris”.
