The Ontario sports betting world is buzzing these days with the big Toronto Raptors’ trade just over a week ago with the New York Knicks.
OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa, and Malachi Flynn are heading to Manhattan, with Canadian RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and a draft pick coming back to Toronto. The Raptors are 3-1 since the trade.
The timing for the announcement of a new collaboration between the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and the Raptors is propitious.
The OLG and Raptors are coming together to support four community organizations that focus on basketball. From January to March, fans can support their organization of choice by playing the free Home Court Advantage game through the Toronto Raptors app.
For every play, OLG and the Raptors will make a donation to the following Ontario organizations: Jan. 8-23, Vipers Wheelchair Basketball in Burlington; Jan. 24-Feb. 9, Indigenous Sport & Wellness Ontario, Sudbury; Feb. 22-March 10, Abilities Centre, Whitby; March 11-27, Mega City Basketball, Mississauga.
One hundred percent of the profits at OLG, a crown agency, go back to local communities, including home courts like these.
“Recognizing the power of sport to bring people together, we are proud to amplify the voices of community builders through the Home Court Advantage program,” said Jordan Vader, Senior Vice President, Global Partnerships, MLSE. “Together with our partner OLG, we continue to innovate on unique campaigns that both entertain our fans and give back to those pushing the game we love even further at a grassroots level.”
The objective is to help these organizations share their stories and raise awareness about what they’re doing in their respective communities.
