A northern Nevada casino has agreed to a $10,000 fine for its lack of oversight and controls in a matter that will be considered Thursday by the Nevada Gaming Commission.
The Off The Rails Casino in Lovelock, which offers slots only, is being cited for 29 allegations that date back to 2016 as part of a 19-page complaint.
The allegations include failure to: ensure a gaming employee was registered; maintain progressive logs and audit records; investigate variances; comply with jackpot payout regulations; properly document payouts; comply with independent audit requirements; restrict access to the count room perform required currency-counter tests; account for wagering instruments; review records for reasonableness; produce required reports; review reports; perform independent testing of promotional points system; use approved methods for reporting revenues on Gaming Commission tax returns; and maintain documentation for bankroll computations.
As part of the settlement, the casino agreed to maintain its use of an online slot system. It’s required to enter into a service contract with a manufacturer of the system that includes training employees who interact with the system; hardware and software maintenance; and 24-hour customer support. A licensee employee trained by the manufacturer should be available at all times it’s open for business.
Off The Rails is required to contract with a bookkeeper or accountant with experience in the gaming sector. It also must contract with or employ a compliance officer.
