New York casinos that have a state liquor license are subject to the curfew issued last Friday and must close their doors from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, the State Liquor Agency clarified in a note posted to their website.
While other states’ curfews only extend to the serving of food and beverage, New York’s goes one step further and states there must be no on-site consumption of food and beverage, indoor or outdoor, after 10 p.m. or the business will risk suspension or cancellation of their liquor license.
The 10 p.m. curfew was enacted in response to the increasing COVID-19 case numbers and hospitalizations in New York. The state saw 5,391 cases on Saturday, the highest total since late April.
New York has a mix of commercial and tribal casinos. Located in Queens, Resorts World Casino New York City is the state’s largest casino with nearly 5,000 slots and 475 table games. Other notable casinos include Del Lago Resort and Casino and Resorts World Catskills which each have around 2,000 slots and opened within the past four years.
