The New Hampshire Lottery has high hopes for the NFL season, anticipating it to be the largest for sports betting in the state.
According to reports from the state’s exclusive sports betting provider, DraftKings, New Hampshire players have placed more than $13 million in wagers during the first two weeks of the season, marking a $1.7 million increase compared to the same period last year.
“Each year, football continues to be one of our biggest sports betting drivers. With an ever-expanding lineup of betting options for our players, the New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings are confident that momentum will continue throughout this season. Here’s to another season of New Hampshire winners,” New Hampshire Lottery Executive Director Charlie McIntyre said in a news release.
McIntyre also emphasized the importance of gambling responsibly. He highlighted DraftKings’ new My Stat Sheet feature, launched this year to provide players with a clear overview of their wagering history.
“The New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings encourage players to take advantage of the DraftKings app’s responsibility features, like limit setting, cool-off periods and self-exclusion,” he said.
This month, the American Gaming Association projected a 33 percent increase in wagers for the season, estimating a record $35 billion fueled by the launch of legal online sports betting in three new states – Maine, Vermont and North Carolina.
