Nevada’s largest casino trade organization named three Las Vegas gaming executives as the group’s chief board officers.
Wynn Resorts Executive Vice President and General Counsel Ellen Whittemore was named the Nevada Resort Association new board chairwoman; Las Vegas Sands Senior Vice President of Government Relations Andy Abboud was named vice chairman.
Boyd Gaming Senior Vice President of Industry and Government Affairs Paul Anderson was named treasurer.
Resort Association President Virginia Valentine will serve as the board’s secretary.
The positions are for the 2021– 2022 term.
In a statement, Whittemore said the resort industry is focused on expediting the state’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As the state’s economic engine and largest employment sector, Nevada’s resort industry understands the vital role we play in communities across the state, which is why we are working collaboratively together to restore our tourism-based economy and bring more Nevadans back to work as soon as possible,” Whittemore said.
