Nevada gaming revenue up for year, despite September decline

Nevada gaming revenues fell 2.2% in September and for the first time on the Strip since May, but statewide win remains ahead for the year, up 1%.

All markets are up for the year in gaming win with exception of the north Lake Tahoe, down 8.3%.
September represented the 55th consecutive month that the state has recorded at least $1 billion in monthly gaming win. While not factoring in inflation, statewide total win was 21.3% or $225 million over September 2019.

Statewide for the month, table, counter, and card games won $346.1 million, decreasing by 16.8% or $70 million. Games drop of $2.9 billion increased 3.6% or $99.3 million over September 2024. Games hold percentage was 12.1% versus 15.1% last year, according to Nevada Gaming Control Board Senior Economic Analyst Shelley Newell.

Baccarat win of $52.2 million decreased 44.3% or $41.5 million. Baccarat drop of $611.5 million increased 11.7% or $64 million. Baccarat’s hold percentage was 8.5% versus 7.1% last year. Total gaming win excluding baccarat increased 1% or $11.8 million year-over-year, Newell said.

Statewide slot win of $937.1 million increased 4.5% or $40.2 million and coin-in of $12.4 billion was up $707 million or 6%.

Nevada sportsbooks won $54.3 million, down 32.8% compared to September 2024, on a hold percentage of 6.86% versus 10.57% last year. Sportsbook wagers totaled $791.1 million, up 3.5% or $26.5 million compared to last September when $764.6 million was wagered statewide. Mobile wagers totaled $532.2 million, up 9.8% or $47.3 million, and accounted for 67.3% of all wagers.

On the Strip, total win of $687.8 million decreased 5.5% or $39.8 million versus September 2024. For the year, total win is up 0.06%. The Strip’s games win of $248.4 million decreased 17.5% or $52.5 million; drop totaled $2.1 billion and increased 6.3% or $121.1 million. Games hold percentage was 12.1% versus 15.6% last year. Baccarat win on the Strip totaled $50.7 million and was down $37.8 million or 42.7%. Volume totaled $597.3 million and is up 15.4% or $79.6 million while hold was 8.49% versus 17.10%.

The Strip’s slot win totaled $439.4 million and increased 3% or $12.7 million, with a 13.1% or $633.9 million increase to coin-in. Slot win percentage was 8.0% versus 8.8% last year.

Downtown Las Vegas’s total win of $89.2 million decreased 2% or $1.8 million. September 2024 was up 33.1% versus September 2023. For the year, total win is up 1.2%.

Downtown slot win totaled $62.5 million and increased 3.9% or $2.4 million. Slot coin-in was up 2.6% or $16.2 million. Slot win percentage was 9.7% versus 9.6% last year. Game and table win totaled $26.7 million, down 13.4% or $4.1 million. Games drop decreased 0.12% or $353,000 on a hold of 9.1% versus 10.5% last year.
In North Las Vegas, total win of $23 million decreased 0.7% or $152,000. For the year, total win is up 4.1%. Slot win totaled $20.4 million and decreased 0.8% or $164,000. Volumes were up 1.4% or $3.8 million and hold was 7.5% versus 7.7%.

On the Boulder Strip, total win of $83.3 million was up 3.6% or $2.9 million. For the year, total win is up 3.2%. Slot win was up 5.1% or $3.6 million. Slot coin-in was down 0.0002% or $1,000. Slot hold was 7.0% versus 6.6%. Game and table win totaled $9.3 million, down 7.1% or $712,000. Games volume up 2.2% or $1.3 million and hold was 15.3% versus 16.84%.

For the balance of Clark County, total win of $159 million was up 2% or $3.1 million. For the year, total win is up 1%. Game and table win totaled $31.2 million, down 21.6% or $8.6 million. Games volume down 8% or $22.8 million. Hold was 11.9% versus. 14.0%. Slot win totaled $127.9 million and was up 10.1% or $11.7 million. Volumes were up 2.3% or $40.4 million. Hold was 7% versus 6.5%. For the year, slot win is up 1.8%.

In Mesquite, total win of $15 million was up 6.3% or $893,000. For the year, total win is up 6.4%. Slot win was up 5.9% or $744,000. Slot coin-in was up 0.5% or $1.1 million). Hold was 6.8% versus 6.5%.

In Laughlin, total win of $40.6 million was up 5.8% or $2.2 million. For the year, total win is up 1.8%. Slot win was up 7.4% or $2.6 million. Slot coin-in was down 1.5% or $6.4 million. Hold was 8.8% versus 8.1%.

In Washoe County, total win of $100.6 million increased 2.3% or $2.3 million. For the year, total win is up 3.2%.
Washoe County slot win increased 4.6% or $3.7 million. Slot coin-in totaled $1.4 billion and was up 1.6% or $21.9 million versus September 2024. Hold was 6.2% versus 6.0% last year. Game and table win totaled $14.5 million, down 9.1% or $1.5. million. Games volume was down 1.6% or $1.6 million. Hold was 15.5% versus 16.8%.

Sportsbooks in Washoe County were down 27.31%; volumes were up 12.6% or $3.9 million on a hold percentage of 11.4% versus 17.7% last year.

In Reno, total win of $75.7 million increased 5.2% or $3.8 million. For the year, total win is up 4.3%. Slot win was up 7.9% or $4.6 million. Volumes were up 2.7% or $26.2 million on hold of 6.4% versus 6.1% last year.

In Sparks, total win was $14.2 million and decreased 10.2% or $1.6 million. For the year, total win is up 0.5%. Slot win totaled $13.3 million and decreased 7.5% or $1.1 million. Coin-in decreased 2.4% or $6.3 million. Hold was 5.1% versus 5.4% last year.

In the Carson Valley area, total win of $11.4 million increased 1.9% or $218,000. For the year, total win is up 4.1%. Slot win up 4.9% or $527,000. Slot coin-in was up 0.7% or $1.3 million. Slot hold percentage was 6.3% versus 6.0%.

In South Lake Tahoe, total win of $23.5 million increased 10% or $2.1 million. For the year, total win is up 1.7%. Slot win increased 20.2% or $3.3 million. Volume was down 7% or $15.8 million. Hold was 9.5% versus 7.3%.

In Elko, total win of $31.5 million decreased 7.3% or $2.5 million. September 2024 was up 1.9% versus September 2023. For the year, total win is up 2.8%. Slot win decreased 6.3% or $1.8 million. Slot coin-in decreased 0.3% or $1.5 million. Slot hold was 5.8% versus 6.2%.
