On January 21, 2022, Chairman J. Brin Gibson appointed Deputy Chief Carl D. Hoffman as the next Chief of the Investigations Division at the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Hoffman, an employee of the Board since March 1993, has served as Deputy Chief of the Investigations Division since 2016.

Chief Hoffman succeeds Mike LaBadie, who retired after more than 35 years of service to the Board on December 10, 2021.

“Chief Hoffman’s career with the Gaming Control Board makes him the right choice to take the reins of the Investigations Division,” said Chair J. Brin Gibson. “I have no doubt that Chief Hoffman will continue to uphold Nevada as the standard bearer in gaming regulation, as applicants for gaming licenses in the Silver State become more sophisticated, increasingly global, and forge new sectors of the gaming industry.”

In his new role, Hoffman will lead the Investigations Division of the Board, which investigates applicants for nonrestricted and restricted gaming licenses, oversees corporate securities for publicly-traded corporations, and implements a robust compliance program for the State’s larger licensees.
