Riverboat casinos in Missouri generated $177.5 million in revenue in August, up 9% year-over-year from $163.3 million. Month-over-month, Missouri casinos also experienced a rise of 5.8% from the $167.7 million generated in July.
The latest report from the Missouri Gaming Commission shows that of the 13 riverboat casinos in the state, nine saw year-over-year rises, two remained stagnant, and two experienced losses.
Ameristar SC casino generated the highest revenue of $27.3 million, up 7% year-over-year, and was closely followed by the River City casino, which generated just less than $24.1 million.
Century Caruthersville saw the most significant year-over-year increase of 37%, with revenues rising from $3.9 million to $5.4 million.
Horseshoe St, Louis, Harrah’s KC, IOC Boonville, and Mark Twain also achieved double-digit increases, with rises of 32%, 17%, 16%, and 11%, respectively.
Bally’s Kansas City had the greatest revenue decline last month, falling from $11.9 million to $11.3 million, a drop of 5%. St. Jo Frontier was the other casino to experience a loss, declining from $4.3 million to $4.2 million, a 2% decrease year-over-year.
Slot revenue for the state rose by 9% year-over-year in August, reaching $151.8 million. Table games rose by 21.5%, from $23.9 million to $25.7 million.
