Mississippi casinos reported $197.6 million in casino revenues for June, down 2.2% from the $202.1 million generated the year prior, and an even steeper decline of 11.6% compared to May.
The Coastal region generated most of the revenue, with $130.5 million, down 1% from the $131.8 million brought in the year before. The region that saw the most significant change in revenue was the Central region, where revenues dropped by 6.1% from $26.1 million to $24.6 million.
The Northern region also saw revenues decline, with the $42.6 million mark a 3.6% drop from $44.1 million in June 2024.
The June revenue figures bring the year-to-date total for Mississippi up to $1.22 billion, down 0.6% from the $1.23 billion generated at the same point in 2024.
The Mississippi Gaming Commission also approved two casino projects in east Biloxi on Thursday. The developers must prove financial backing before construction can begin.
