The Mirage Hotel & Casino announced Thursday that it hired two people to its executive team, Orestes “O.G.” Guerra as vice president and chief of security and Paul Schillig as vice president of hotel operations; Schillig will work on the planned redesign and expansion of the iconic Strip property.
Schillig brings more than 15 years of expertise in the hospitality industry, with a specific focus on guest services and hotel operations. In this role, he’ll lead the resort’s redesign, setting the stage for The Mirage to become the newest Hard Rock property. Most recently, he served as head of hotel operations for Stations Casino at the Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa, overseeing the renovation of guest rooms and suites, along with The Palms Casino Resort and Palms Place.
Guerra will lead the execution of all security-related operations, standards, and strategies, while shaping the vision and strategic plan for the security team. Prior to joining The Mirage, he led security at The Cosmopolitan and served more than 25 years in law enforcement with the Henderson Police Department. His accolades include numerous awards and recognitions, such as the Henderson Police Department Investigator of the Year, certificates of appreciation from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. Department of Justice, and recognition by the FBI for outstanding assistance.
“With O.G. Guerra and Paul Schillig taking their new roles at The Mirage, we continue to elevate the experience and safety for our guests,” said Joe Lupo, president of The Mirage.
