Little River Casino Resort, owned by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, this week presented $885,995 to the Manistee County Local Revenue Sharing Board in Michigan.

Since 1999, the Little River Band of Ottawa has donated more than $40 million to local organizations.

Funds are designated for and supplement public safety organizations, payments in lieu of taxes and costs incurred by local units of government. Benefactors include West Shore Community College, the Council of Aging, the city of Manistee, Manistee County, Manistee Township, the conservation district, medical care and local schools.

“There is a long-standing commitment to be a good member and community partner, striving to help where we can,” a statement by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians said. “This distribution is an agreement made with Manistee County but in our hearts represents the positive impact we make by being here.”
