The non-gaming Delano Las Vegas will become MGM Resorts International’s third property to reopen on July 1 on the, joining Mandalay Bay and Aria. The property is connected to Mandalay Bay but does not have a casino.
Bellagio, MGM Grand, and New York-New York reopened on June 4 and Excalibur reopened Thursday. Luxor is scheduled to reopen on July 25.
MGM’s entire portfolio – more than two dozen properties in eight states – closed in mid-march due to the spreading coronavirus pandemic. The company has reopened casino in Mississippi and is expected to reopen MGM Northfield in Ohio on Saturday.
“We are pleased to bring more employees back to work,” MGM Resorts acting CEO Bill Hornbuckle said in a statement. “As we continue monitoring business demand, and with safety at the forefront of our planning, we are able to open additional resorts and build our workforce, which is so critically important to our community.”
The company’s “Seven-Point Safety Plan” is a multi-layered set of protocols and procedures designed in conjunction with medical and scientific experts to mitigate the spread of the virus, protect customers and employees and rapidly respond to potential new cases.
