The MGM Resorts Foundation this week announced grants of more than $2.7 million to nonprofit organizations in communities where the casino company operates. A total of 107 organizations in southern Nevada, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, northeast Ohio, the D.C. metropolitan area, and western Massachusetts are receiving donations from the foundation’s Community Grant Fund.

The nonprofit organizations provide services for affordable housing; economic opportunity and workforce development; K-12 education; family services; food insecurity; health and wellness; homelessness; and services for seniors and military veterans.

Established in 2002, the Community Grant Fund’s decisions are made by councils of employee volunteers representing their respective regions to determine which local nonprofit agencies receive funding. Since its inception, the foundation has raised more than $100 million and supported more than 1,500 charitable organizations.

Guests can also contribute to the MGM Resorts Foundation.

“MGM Resorts employees continue to amaze us with their generosity and commitment to our local communities,” said MGM Resorts Vice President of Philanthropy and Community Engagement Maria Gatti in a statement. “On behalf of our 107 grant recipients, thank you for your donations and even more importantly, for enlivening our company’s belief in investing in our communities through giving as well as volunteerism.”
