Massachusetts casino revenue down 7.1% year-over-year in February

Gaming revenue in Massachusetts reached $93.4 million last month, down 7.1% compared to February 2024, which reported $100.6 million, the Massachusetts Gaming Committee reported.

Encore Boston Harbor led the charge at $59.3 million, down from the previous year’s $64.4 million. MGM Springfield reported $20.9 million, down from $22.9 million. Plainridge Park Casino was up from $13.1 million to $13.2 million.

The Massachusetts Gaming Committee reported that sportsbook wagers rose from $538.7 million to $628.2 million, up 16.6%. Taxable revenue grew from $52.7 million to $65.6 million, up 24.3%.

Online sportsbooks had the most significant effect on wagers and revenue for February. Six online operators are licensed in the state: BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, ESPNBet, Fanatics and Fanduel. Online wagers totaled $618.6 million last month, rising from $526.5 million year-over-year, and taxable revenue increased from $52 million to $65.3 million year-over-year.
