Massachusetts’ three casinos generated $105 million in revenue last month, up 1.7% from last year’s $103.3 million.
The figures, published by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, show that each casino saw a minor increase year-over-year. Revenues were led by Encore Boston Harbor, which reported $65 million, up 0.1% from $64.9 million. Most of this came from slot games, producing $38.8 million, up 8% year-over-year, while table games generated $26.2 million, down 9.7% year-over-year.
MGM Springfield recorded the second-highest revenue in the state, rising from $23.7 million to $24.9 million, a year-over-year increase of 5.2%. Slot games rose 8.7% year-over-year, from $18.3 million to $19.9 million. Table games declined from $5.3 million to $5 million, a drop of 6.9%.
Plainridge Park Casino, which does not offer table games, generated the lowest revenue in August, reporting $15.1 million, up 2.8% from $14.7 million.
Statewide, slot games accounted for $73.9 million of combined revenue, up 7.1% from the previous year’s figure of $69 million. Table games revenue dropped from $34.3 million to $31.1 million, down 9.3%.
