Maryland casinos recorded revenue of $170.3 million in August, down 2.1% from the $173.9 million generated in August 2024.
The Maryland Lottery and Gaming report its latest report while half of the state’s six casinos experienced modest revenue growth, the losses from the state’s top-earning property offset those gains. MGM National Harbor, which posted the largest monthly total at $70.1 million, fell 6.5% short of its performance from last August.
Hollywood Casino, the state’s second-smallest casino, saw a decline of 13%.
Video lottery terminals accounted for the largest portion of revenue, bringing in $118.2 million, while table games contributed $52 million. Both segments saw minor decreases compared to August of the previous year, when VLTs and table games generated $118.5 million and $55.4 million, respectively.
