Maryland casinos recorded revenue of $170.3 million in August, down 2.1% from the $173.9 million generated in August 2024.
The Maryland Lottery and Gaming reports that while half of the state’s six casinos experienced modest revenue growth, the losses from the state’s top-earning property offset those gains. MGM National Harbor, which posted the largest monthly total at $70.1 million, fell 6.5% short of its performance from last August.
Hollywood Casino, the state’s second-smallest casino, saw a decline of 13%.
Video lottery terminals accounted for the largest portion of revenue, bringing in $118.2 million, while table games contributed $52 million. Both segments saw minor decreases compared to August of the previous year, when VLTs and table games generated $118.5 million and $55.4 million, respectively.
