Maryland’s six casinos generated revenue of $162.6 million during April, down 0.3% compared to last year’s total of $163.1 million in April.
Maryland Lottery and Gaming figures showed that video lottery terminals produced $115.2 million out of the revenue, up from the previous year’s $112.7 million. Table game revenue declined from $50.4 million to $47.3 million year-over-year.
Horseshoe Casino recorded revenue of $15.5 million for April, up 6.2% on last April’s numbers, while the state’s biggest revenue generator, MGM National Harbor, recorded $68.6 million, up 0.8% year-over-year. Ocean Downs Casino generated 2.6% more revenue than the previous year, reporting $7.5 million.
Rocky Gap Casino was the biggest loser in April, reporting $4 million in revenue, down 4.1%. Live! Casino & Hotel (down 3.2%) and Hollywood Casino (down 0.6%) also recorded falls.
The industry’s contribution to state funds increased yearly. Casino gaming added $70.6 million to state coffers during April, up 1.1% from last year, including a $50.9 million boost to the state’s Education Trust Fund.
