Maine’s two commercial casinos generated $15.4 million in revenue last month, up 12.5% from last year’s $13.7 million.
The figures, published by the Maine Gambling Control Unit, showed that both casinos, Hollywood Casino Bangor and Oxford Casino, reported year-over-year revenue increases.
Oxford Casino was the biggest revenue generator last month, producing $9.3 million, up 17.3% year-over-year from $7.9 million. Slot revenue for Oxford Casino increased 13.6% year-over-year, rising from $7.2 million to $8.2 million, while table games grew 56%, from $688,930 to $1.1 million.
Hollywood Casino at Bangor generated $6.1 million in revenue, up from the previous year’s figure of $5.8 million, a 5.9% increase year-over-year. Slot and table games also were up in August. Slots rose 6%, up from $4.9 million to $5.2 million, while table games increased from $904,992 to $951,732, a 5.2% year-over-year increase.
Combined slot revenue totaled $13.4 million last month, rising 1.5% year-over-year from $12.1 million. Table games also increased, rising from $1.6 million to $2 million, up 27% year-over-year.
