Maine’s two commercial casinos recorded net revenues of $13.7 million in June, a 2.8% drop from $14.1 million in June 2024.

The headline figure released by the Maine Gambling Unit conceals a notable difference in fortunes between the two venues. Hollywood Casino in Bangor posted a strong performance, generating $5.7 million in June for a 9% increase on the $5.2 million it brought in during the same month last year. In contrast, Oxford Casino’s revenue dropped by nearly 10%, falling from $8.9 million in June 2024 to $8 million this year. Oxford Casino accounted for 58.5% of revenue in June, so its drop wiped out any gains from Hollywood Casino in Bangor.

Slot machines remained the dominant source of casino income, producing a combined $11.7 million across both sites. Table games contributing just less than $2 million.

The figures arrive as Maine’s gambling industry continues to evolve, with the possibility that igaming may arrive in the state. However, implementing that change was delayed until at least January after Governor Janet Mills chose not to sign a bill giving tribal gaming operators the right to launch icasinos.
