Louisiana’s 16 casinos reported a combined $197.2 million in adjusted gross receipts for May, a year-over-year rise of 12.7% compared to last year’s figure of $175 million.
The figures published by the Louisiana State Police show that Golden Nugget Lake Charles reported the most revenue – $30.3 million – up 3% from last year’s $29.5 million. L’Auberge Lake Charles reported $27.2 million in May, up 5.6% from last year’s $28.8 million, representing a yearly rise of 5.6%. Caesars New Orleans, the state’s lone land-based casino, reported $21.3 million, up 6.6% from last year’s $20 million.
Treasure Chest experienced the greatest revenue percentage rise, growing 100.6% from $7.2 million to $14.5 million. Margaritaville and Sam’s Town recorded double-digit percentage revenue declines. Margaritaville dropped 20.7% from $17.3 million to $13.7 million, while Sam’s Town was down 19.5%, from $3.8 million to $3 million year-over-year.
