Louisiana: August gaming revenue increases in all districts

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board recently reported revenue of $192.7 million from all forms of gaming in August. That’s an increase of 7.6%, year-over-year.

Revenue from online sports betting reached $24.4 million, up 51% year-over-year, from a handle of $218.0 million, a 57% increase compared to the previous year.

Gaming revenue increased year-over-year in all Louisiana districts.

Properties in the Lake Charles district led with gaming revenue of $71.3 million, a 1.2% gain year-over-year. L’Auberge Casino Resort posted revenue of $26.0 million, followed by Golden Nugget Lake Charles, which generated $25.6 million. Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel generated $14.0 million, and Horseshoe Lake Charles posted $5.7 million.

Shreveport/Bossier City district properties generated revenue of $48.6 million, a 12.4% increase compared to August 2023. Horseshoe Bossier City generated $15.6 million, Margaritaville Resort Casino came in at 14.5 million, and Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel posted revenue of $8.1 million.

The New Orleans district generated revenue of $45.7 million, a 15.8% increase compared to August 2023. Harrah’s New Orleans posted revenue of $18.9 million, followed by Treasure Chest Casino with $12.4 million and Boomtown Casino & Hotel with $8.5 million.

The Baton Rouge district had a year-over-year increase of 4.5%, generating revenue of $20.6 million. L’Auberge Casino Hotel led the district with $13.2 million, the Queen of Baton Rouge generated $6.8 million, and the Belle of Baton Rouge reported revenue of $0.6 million.

Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in St. Landry Parish generated revenue of $6.2 million, a year-over-year increase of 7.6%.
