Some movement on the Canadian igaming media landscape: Lazarus Agency Limited has announced the execution of a letter of intent to acquire Parleh Media Group, the digital media company covering sports, entertainment, and igaming industries.
Lazarus reports that it is raising $5 million to facilitate the acquisition and backstop expansion plans. Parleh Media Group includes Homestand Sports, The Parleh, and Gaming News Canada, and various sub brands and IP.
“This acquisition aligns perfectly with our strategic vision to broaden our content offerings and reach a wider audience,” said Charlie Watson, Founder & CEO of Lazarus Agency Limited.
Lazarus was attracted to Parleh’s strengths in sports media, sports betting, and igaming content, looking to boost its digital, live, and event-based and content strategy across North America.
“While Parleh boasts significant partnerships with the likes of Sports Interaction, BetMGM, FanDuel, Bet99, and NorthStar Bets, to name a few, their strong market presence in Canada and innovative approach will undoubtedly enhance our capabilities to drive significant revenue and build audiences across our new platform,” Watson added.
Parleh was founded in 2021. The company produces sports, betting, and media properties such as The Homestand Show, The Parleh, Room 4-4-2, and Hoop Talks. Lazarus produces live-streamed broadcasts, in-person events and media for partners like Chevrolet Canada, Caesars Entertainment, Hockey Canada, Cineplex/World Gaming and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
“As we quickly approach the upcoming NFL, NHL, and NBA seasons, and with the MLB playoffs right around the corner, today’s announcement puts us in the driver’s seat to attack new opportunities with our new and existing partners and create more value through our offerings,” said Mark Silver, Founder of Parleh Media Group. “Our shared vision and complementary strengths make us a formidable force delivering exceptional and engaging content to our audiences.”
