The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority will donate $5 million to the Vegas Strong Fund to assist in funding the construction of the Forever One Memorial in honor of victims and first responders of the Oct. 1, 2017, mass shooting.

The contribution from the LVCVA comes on top of $10 million from Clark County approved in January and $5 million from MGM Resorts International that also agreed to donate two acres for the memorial site.

In 2024, the Clark Commission designated the Vegas Strong Fund, with the responsibility of overseeing the fundraising, design, and construction of the permanent Forever One Memorial to remember those who perished in the tragedy, honor the emergency and first responders, and celebrate resiliency and compassion in the Las Vegas community.

The mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival from nearby Mandalay Bay killed 60 people and wounded more than 400 others.
