Las Vegas tourism agency announces citywide sales event in wake of declining tourism

Facing a downturn in visitation over the summer and a media bandwagon that the resorts are overpriced, Las Vegas’ tourism agency announced its first-ever destination-wide sale event. Called “The Fabulous 5-Day Sale,” the details will be launched Monday coinciding with its 9 a.m. Eastern launch.

“This limited-time sale will deliver incredible deals on resorts, restaurants, entertainment, and experiences, extending a citywide invitation to visitors to rediscover the magic, energy, and unbeatable value of Las Vegas,” the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority announced in a statement.
It will be available at VisitLasVegas.com/Deals.

The sale is part of the $35 million “Welcome to Fabulous” campaign launched Sept., a year-long marketing blitz that takes its name from the city’s iconic sign.

The campaign comes as visitation is down 8% for the year and 12% in July, the most recent month available. Resorts expect visitation to pick up by the end of the year and into 2026, given convention bookings.

“Through a mix of broadcast, digital, out-of-home, partnerships, activations, and citywide events, the campaign showcases the energy, excitement, and spirit that make Las Vegas the ultimate escape,” the LVCVA said.

Previously launched elements of the campaign include a 60-second travel-inspiration commercial that debuted on national TV; Las Vegas landmarks turned purple as marquees and digital billboards across the city lit up with the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” message; a 3D anamorphic billboard in Times Square showcasing renowned Las Vegas imagery, creating the illusion of breaking through the confines of the screen; the “Fabulous Pickups and Photo Opportunity” at Harry Reid International Airport; “The Fabulous Tunnel Walk at Allegiant Stadium” on Monday; and a larger-than-life billboard that blinks from “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” to “Come to Fabulous Las Vegas” on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
