Harry Reid International Airport registered an all-time record for passenger traffic in June, setting the stage for good gaming-revenue numbers on the Strip when the Nevada Gaming Control Board releases them Thursday morning. Aided by the Strip, statewide, Nevada is looking at its 16th consecutive month of gaming revenue of $1 billion and higher.

The 4.68 million passengers who passed through the airport surpasses the previous high of 4.60 million passengers set in October 2019, according to the airport. It’s also 23% higher than the 3.81 million who passed through the airport in June 2021.

Some 4.57 million passengers were counted in May 2022, then the third highest in history.

International travel continued its steady rebound, with 244,033 passengers in June, up about 4,000 from May. There were 53,402 international passengers in June 2021.

The airport handled 4.35 million domestic passengers, up from 4.24 million in May.

For the first half of the year, the airport handled 24.2 million passengers, a 52.4% increase over the the same period of 2021, when it was 15.93 million.
