One of Downtown Las Vegas’ iconic logos is getting a new home.

The Plaza Hotel & Casino Wednesday announced it is donating a sign to the Neon Museum, which collects and preserves vintage Las Vegas signs.

The logo sign was designed by the late Charles Barnard, who worked for the California-based firm Ad Art. Barnard also designed Vickie Vegas for the Glitter Gulch, an adult entertainment venue in Downtown Vegas, and the Sassy Sally’s sign for the Fremont Street saloon.

Barnard created signs for the Plaza when its South Tower was built in 1983. The sign being donated was on the Plaza’s Main Street façade between its two towers until 2011, when the property was renovated.

The logo sign was transported from the Plaza to Hartlauer Signs Wednesday for restoration and reillumination.
