Palms Casino Resort and Light & Wonder in Las Vegas and Light & Wonder recently celebrated the official debut of the new L&W Lane at the Palms with the Keep It or Build It Up charity slot event. The event raised nearly $20,000 for 10 local nonprofit organizations.

Designed to pair community impact with casino play, the event transformed the branded slot area into a “celebration of giving,” according to a news release.

Curated by Palms Assistant General Manager Laura De La Cruz, the charitable concept invited 10 nonprofits — each receiving a $1,000 cash donation and four $250 TITO slot vouchers — to play any machine in the newly unveiled lane. Whatever the groups won was theirs to keep, creating an opportunity to build additional money for their missions during the holiday season.

“The holidays are when local charities need support the most and having a great partner like Light & Wonder made this crazy idea not only possible, but truly special,” De La Cruz said in a statement. “The energy, the excitement, the wins — it all came together to create a memorable event that made a real impact.”

Participating nonprofits included After School All-Stars; Communities in Schools; Goodie Two-Shoes; The Shade Tree; United Way of Southern Nevada; Jeremiah Program; Springs Preserve Foundation; Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada; Edward Kline Homeless Veterans Fund; and the Marty Hennessy Inspiring Children Foundation, whose representative hit a jackpot on a Super Hot Flaming Pots machine.

“We were thrilled to help launch the L&W Lane in such a meaningful way,” Light & Wonder Vice President Corporate Affairs & Communications Andy Fouché said. “Seeing our newest titles fuel excitement while supporting organizations that strengthen the Las Vegas community was incredibly rewarding. This event showcased what’s possible when creative ideas meet shared values.”

The L&W Lane features 40 progressive slot games, special décor and design, and a lineup of top-performing L&W titles, including Huff N’ Puff – We’ve Had EnuffHuff N’ Triple PuffSuper Hot Flaming Pots, and Triple Blast From The Planet Moolah. The launch event treated guests and charity representatives to custom Light & Wonder swag and a celebratory environment befitting the season.

The L&W Lane is open to all Palms guests.
