Las Vegas: K9 competition produces five winning dog teams

The International Casino & Resort Working Dog Association K9 Trials were held Oct. 28 in Las Vegas. The non-profit organization hosted 75 dog teams and 120 students competing for top honors.

The winners were:

Top Casino Explosives Detection K9 Team: Wynn Las Vegas K9 Unit

Top Private Security Explosives Detection K9 Team: Protective Force International

Explosives Detection Individual: 1st Place – Wynn Las Vegas, Marco Pulido, and K9 Miso; 2nd Place – Protective Force International Anthony Valadez and K9 Migo; 3rd Place – Wynn Las Vegas, Andrey Vasilyev and K9 Maya

Firearms Detection Individual: 1st Place – MGM,  Julie Holl and K9 Carie; 2nd Place – MGM, Freddie Galvez and K9 Meanie; 3rd Place – Protective Force International, Robert Featherstone and K9 Heat

Bed Bug Detection: 1st Place – Preventative Pest Control, Diego Rodriguez and K9 Rogue; 2nd Place – Wynn Las Vegas, Rocky Magbual and K9 Rocket

The non-profit ICRWDA assists casino-security departments at no cost.
